Privacy policy


In compliance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) [hereinafter the “GDPR”], we would like to inform you that the CTU in Prague, ID: 68407700, with its registered seat at Jugoslávských partyzánů 1580/3, 160 00 Praha 6 – Dejvice, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Institute 12135 – Research Center of Manufacturing Technology, address: Horská 3, 128 00 Praha 2 (hereinafter the “CTU”), as the personal data administrator, processes personal data that you provide on registration forms, including first name, surname, title, institution/company (employer), e-mail address, position, telephone number  (hereinafter “Personal Data”), pursuant to Article 6 (1)(f) of the GDPR, for purposes related to your registration and participation in a specialized educational event held by the CTU, including notification of your registration to the given specialized educational event, and further for the purpose of maintaining records of participants to whom the CTU may send invitations to subsequent specialized educational events (conferences, workshops, specialized meetings, etc.).

The CTU in Prague processes Personal Data in order to conduct activities contributing to fulfilment of the CTU’s mission as defined in its Statutes, namely to develop technical activities in accordance with the needs of society and global trends, and take part in creative application of the results of scientific, research and development work by e.g. holding specialized educational events – scientific and working conferences, lectures, discussion forums, specialized workshops, courses, various types of meetings of experts, etc. (hereinafter “Specialized Educational Events” or also “Specialized Educational Event”).  The legal basis for the CTU’s processing of Personal Data is the necessity of processing such data for the purposes of the CTU’s legitimate interest, which is fulfilment of the CTU’s mission as defined in the CTU’s Statutes.

The CTU shall process and store Personal Data for the entire duration of the purpose of processing. Personal Data shall not be provided to third parties.

Provision of Personal Data is voluntary. We would also like to inform you that you can cancel your registration for a Specialized Educational Event at any time by sending an e-mail to the organizer of the Specialized Educational Event. If you send a cancellation e-mail, you will no longer receive information about the Specialized Educational Event and processing of your Personal Data will cease immediately.

The subject of the data, i.e. the participant of a Specialized Educational Event whose Personal Data is processed by the CTU (hereinafter the “Data Subject”), shall be entitled to request information about the processing of his or her Personal Data from the CTU  by sending a written request to the Institute 12135 – Research Center of Manufacturing Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU in Prague, Horská 3, Praha 2, Post Code 128 00 or an e-mail to: The Data Subject shall be further entitled to require the CTU to amend any errors to his or her Personal Data without undue delay. Should the Data Subject believe that a violation of the GDPR has occurred pertaining to protection of his or her Personal Data, s/he shall be entitled to file a complaint with one of the supervisory authorities (Office for Personal Data Protection).





By filling in his or her Personal Data in the registration form for the purpose of participating in a Specialized Educational Event held by the CTU and sending in the registration form, the Data Subject gives his or her consent that, as defined by Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR, the CTU may take photos during the Specialized Educational Events on which the Data Subject can be identified (hereinafter the “Photos”) and process Photos obtained in such manner, whether in tangible or digital (intangible) form, which the CTU may subsequently use when publishing papers presented at the Specialized Educational Event or for informative, illustrative and promotional purposes on the CTU’s website or its institute’s website and/or in printed specialized media. 

Publication of specialized and targeted publications in the field of machine tools, i.e. collections of papers from conferences and specialized workshops (hereinafter “Specialized Publications”) and support to scientific and publication activities in the field of machine tools are also activities that the CTU conducts to fulfil its mission  as defined in the CTU’s statutes.

Photos shall be processed in compliance with the applicable provisions of the GDPR. Processing shall mean primarily the following:

  • provision of Photos for publication in Specialized Publications, i.e. entities collaborating with the CTU to achieve the aforementioned goal,
  • storage of Photos on the CTU’s disks, to which only designated individuals have authorized access, or at a designated site for archiving of written documentation,
  • posting of Photos on the websites of the CTU or of its institutes, and
  • publication of Photos in articles in printed specialized and popular media,

for the entire period during which the purpose of the processing exists, or until withdrawal of the consent to taking and processing of Photos.

Provision of consent is entirely voluntary and whether an individual gives or does not give his or her consent shall not have any effect on the processing of the Data Subject’s Personal Data provided to the CTU, which the CTU processes on the basis of its legitimate interest.  

Pursuant to Article 7 (3) of the GDPR, the Data Subject shall be entitled to withdraw its consent to taking of Photos at any time and without providing any reason, by sending an e-mail to the address provided for the specific Specialized Educational Event. Withdrawal of consent shall not affect processing of Personal Data on the basis of the CTU’s legitimate interest. Furthermore, withdrawal of consent shall not affect processing of Personal Data which the CTU is processing pursuant to a legal basis other than consent and legitimate interest (e.g. for the purpose of contract performance). Withdrawal of consent may influence achievement of the purpose for which the consent was given, if such purpose cannot be achieved through other means.

The Data Subject shall also be entitled to:

  • access his or her Photos (as defined by Article 15 of the GDPR),
  • have his or her Photos amended (as defined by Article 16 of the GDPR),
  • have his or her Photos deleted, if the reasons stipulated in Article 17 of the GDPR are given,
  • restriction of processing of Photos in cases defined in Article 18 of the GDPR,
  • Photo portability in cases defined in Article 20 of the GDPR,
  • lodge a complaint against the CTU in Prague as outlined in Article 77 of the GDPR.
